Youth WW2 is a digital platform that presents stories about young people during the Second World War through exhibits from the collections of the History Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The stories about ordinary people, heroes and perpetratos, are told through personal items, photographs, documents, awards and other forms of legacy that are preserved, researched and presented in the work of the Museum as museum objects. The stories are fragments of a larger mosaic that, through the museum fund, bears witness to the atmosphere of that restless, dangerous and revolutionary era. By exhibiting virtually the storis we also try to open a discussion: did young people in such circumstances and times even had the possibility to choose? - If so, what were their choices? - What are the ideals they fought for? – What was the price of the choices they made ? - What kind of messages their examples left us as heritage? We find the answers to these questions in stories and objects, highlighting their universal positive values in the context of modern times. The aim of Youth WW2 platform was not to, nor could it have, present all the stories of every young person in museum collections, but still presents a great contribution made by the History Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina to bring those stories and to present them in contemporary communication tools and media. The work on the platform is ongoing and it will be developed futher, which, at the same time it is an invitation to all those who keep objects from the Second World War in their families and private collections and are willing to share stories, to help us in expanding it.

In addition to stories about young people, the other content of the platform in the form of various museum materials gives visitors an insight into the work and collection policy of the Museum of the Revolution of Bosnia and Herzegovina during the socialist period, the interpretation of this type of heritage and the contribution of the museum in shaping the culture of memory of the period of anti-fascist struggle. The platform is also physically available in the form of the Open Depot of the History Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
